In Huancayo we saw our first Peru league game between Sport Huancayo and Alianza Athletico. The game was a Zero-Zero tie, the first of many we will see, and not a great show of human ability. The jersey I purchased before the game had number 7 on the back and I was hoping he was playing. #7 was on the field and always open, but no one was passing to him. At first this surprised me, but when he did get the ball he made a bad pass or a shot not on goal. I dare to say that me and my jersey might have been better for the team. Sorry #7.
The fans were great and the riot police were casual but present and in force. We were served a rum and coke mixture, that also substituted for paint remover, by a gentleman with two teeth. All and all, it was a great time that we shared with our buddy John from Chicago and the other fans. Flickr Page.
